Description
Item: Commercial Zero-Turn Riding Mowers (10) SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Commercial Zero-Turn Riding Mowers 1. SCOPE / PURPOSE The contractor shall provide a commercial-grade zero-turn riding mower to support grounds maintenance operations. The equipment must meet or exceed the following minimum essential physical, functional, and performance characteristics to ensure durability, operator safety, and compliance with Army regulations.2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Cutting Width: The mower deck must have a cutting width of no less than 60 inches and no greater than 62 inches. Mower Deck Construction: Must be constructed of a minimum 7-gauge reinforced steel. Deck Adjustability and Features: Must feature an adjustable cutting height ranging from 1 inch to5 inches. The deck must include anti-scalp or gage wheels and a rubber discharge chute to prevent debris hazards. Tires/Wheels: Rear: Must be Tweel Turf (airless radial) or equivalent non-pneumatic turf tires to prevent flats and reduce maintenance. Front Casters: Must be solid, flat-free tires (smooth or ribbed). Fuel Capacity: The fuel tank must accommodate a minimum of 9 gallons, up to a maximum of 20 gallons. 3.FUNCTIONAL AND PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Engine Specifications: Must be a commercial-grade, air-cooled, and filtered engine. The engine power output must be a minimum of 29 Horsepower (HP) and not exceed 38 HP. Drive System: Must utilize a hydraulic, filtered, and fan-cooled drive system. Acceptable configurations include unitized transaxles, gear pumps, or wheel motors. Operational Speed: The mower must be capable of achieving forward ground speeds up to 20 miles per hour (mph). Electrical System: Must operate on a minimum 12-volt system equipped with a maintenance-free battery and an electromagnetic Power Take-Off (PTO) clutch. The ignition system must utilize a keyed switch or touchpad. The system must include an operational hour meter and support internal or external charging. Operator Comfort and Suspension: The mower must include a suspension seating system to mitigate operator fatigue. Acceptable options include flex forks, platform suspension, air ride, or full front-and-back suspension configurations. 4.SAFETY AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS):Must be equipped with an upright or folding ROPS compliant with OSHA and Army Safety Program standards. Operator Presence System: Must incorporate automated safety interlock switches that prevent the engine from starting, the cutting deck from engaging, or any forward/reverse drive movement unless the operator is properly seated. Braking System: Must include a hand-operated or foot-operated mechanical parking brake. 5.WARRANTY AND DELIVERABLES Warranty: The contractor shall provide a minimum one (1) year unconditional warranty covering parts, labor, and manufacturer defects. Technical Manuals: The contractor must provide the following documentation in hard copy or digital format at the time of equipment delivery: Mower: Operator Manual and Parts Manual. Engine: Operator Manual, Parts Manual, and Technical Repair Manual.
