Thermal Energy Network Feasibility Study
The Town of Breckenridge (TOB) is seeking quotes to study and investigate the feasibility of Thermal Energy Network adoption. The Phase 1 (Feasibility) study contemplates the ideal location to install a geothermal ambient temperature loop system that allows for the transition of public buildings away from natural gas, lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and demand on the natural gas pipeline. TOB seeks to evaluate heating and cooling capacity, hydrogeological resources, and asset identification. If a successful outcome is achieved with the Phase 1 study, TOB may offer to the selected firm the opportunity of a Phase 2 study encompassing more detailed investigation.

Submission Contents should include the following:
Timeline
Phase 1 project completion is expected by May 2 nd , 2025. If a favorable outcome is found, a Phase 2 project timeline may be considered with the selected Phase 1 contractor.
Budget
Phase 1 project budget is $45,000.
Cost Proposal
Vendors should submit a cost included in their proposal. Proposal should include, in detail, what is provided in the Phase 1 study.
Technical Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the requirements set forth in the RFP. Qualifications and experience will be considered in addition to pricing in the evaluation process.

Project proposals are due on February 28 th , 2025 at 5pm Mountain Time to sustainablebreck@townofbreckenridge.com . Late submissions will not be considered. If you are selected for an interview, they will be held the following week (February 24 th through 28 th ) to allow for the selected vendor to complete the project within the expected timeline.
