Project Description: Ada County seeks bids (“Bids”) for work on a project that generally entails the remodel of the information desk and immediately surrounding area near the main entrance of the Ada County Courthouse, located at 200 W. Front Street, Boise, ID 83702 (“Project”), as more specifically described herein and in the specifications and drawings set forth in the Project Manual entitled Bid 25063 Ada County Courthouse Information Desk Remodel 2025 (“Project Manual”).
The Project requires the demolition, removal, and replacement of the existing information desk and related improvements and the construction of a new information desk and related improvements to include an interior work area with private meeting space, ADA-accessible counters, a seating area for patrons, cabinet storage space, data, electrical, lighting, and acoustic improvements, and upgrades to finishes, including millwork. Bidders must account for the concrete slab beneath the tile flooring in the construction area and the successful Bidder will be expected to protect the tile flooring at all times during construction by covering the same with plywood or other protective materials to avoid damage thereto. The successful Bidder will also be expected to use a zip wall system around the construction area to protect the area and Courthouse patrons and personnel when work is not being performed.
It is anticipated that most work will be noisy and, as a result, will need to be performed on a shift basis on weekday nights outside of regular business hours to avoid disruption to Courthouse operations. Weekend shift work may be available but is not guaranteed and will be at the discretion of Ada County Operations. Bidders are on notice that, based on the anticipated need for shift work outside of regular business hours, the Courthouse is considered a restricted area and the security clearance requirements set forth in Section 17 in these Instructions to Bidders will therefore be strictly enforced.
a. The Base Bid will include the work listed above, as described more specifically described in the specifications and drawings set forth in the Project Manual.
b. Due to potential funding constraints, the Project also includes one (1) Additive Alternate Bid for three (3) twenty-four-inch by sixty-inch (24” x 60”) electronic sit-stand desks in lieu of a built-in desk as set forth in the Project Manual.
c. Bidders are required to submit an Additive Alternate Bid. Ada County has a limited budget and is uncertain whether any of the Additive Alternate work can be completed within its budget constraints. Accordingly, the award will be based on the lowest Base Bid Amount only. The determination of whether any of the Additive Alternate work will be performed will be made in Ada County’s sole discretion.
