Description
This Request for Pre-Qualification (“RPQ”) is an invitation by Rocky View County (the “County”) to prospective respondents to qualify in accordance with Evaluation of Responses (Part 2) for eligibility to provide Construction of Stoney Trail NE and Airport Trail NE Interchange Stage 2 Improvements as further described in Section A of the Scope of Work (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”).
Statement of Qualification submissions from contractors that are interested in pre-qualifying for the provision of construction services for upgrading the existing Stoney Trail NE interchange at Airport Trail NE.
The Genesis Land Development Corporation (Genesis) is moving forward with their new mixed-use development referred to as OMNI in Rockyview County (RVC). To support the proposed development, a new access connection to the Northeast Calgary Ring Road, Stoney Trail NE, is required at the existing half interchange at Airport Trail NE.
The project extents are limited to works within the east and west Transport Utility Corridor (TUC) boundaries with new ramp connections extending approximately 1000m to the north and south of the current Airport Trail NE crossing of Stoney Trail NE.
The general improvements to the existing infrastructure include:
•Construct the north half of the ultimate structure using a four-lane divided roadway (two WB lanes / two EB lanes).
•Use the existing lane single-lane structure and construct the separated (by-pass) WB-SB movement and the associated loop ramp.
•Construct a divided four-lane cross-section for Airport Trail NE within the Transportation Utility Corridor (TUC) limits.
•Construct the SB-EB dual left turn at the West intersection terminal.
•Construct the NB-WB dual left turn at the East intersection terminal.
•Construct the WB-NB directional ramp.
•Construct the EB-NB loop ramp.
•Reconfigure the existing EB-SB ramp from a two-lane ramp to a single-lane ramp.
•Signalized intersections at East and West interchange terminal intersections.
The project is tentatively scheduled to proceed with an Invitation to Tender (ITT) in early Q1 2025
