CUTLER SCHOOL WATER MAIN/PARKING LOT UPGRADES
AND APPURTENANCES

INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for the construction of the Cutler School Water Main/Parking Lot Upgrades and Appurtenances, Contract No. HW26-023, Hamilton, Massachusetts will be received at the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District Office, 5 School Street, Wenham, MA 01984 until June 4 th , 2026, 11:00 A.M. Prevailing Time, and at that time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids must be mailed, or hand delivered to the above specified receiving address prior to the times specified hereunder. If mailed, bids shall be sent to the above specified receiving address in time for bid opening.
Bidding Documents will be available on or after May 13 th , 2026, and may be obtained electronically by contacting Peter Calderazzo at 617-531-0748 or pcalderazzo@dewberry.com, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check, payable to the Owner, in a dollar amount of 5 percent of the total bid, in accordance with the conditions in Section 00100 INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 250 feet of new 6-inch ductile iron water main, one 6-inch gate valve, fittings, connection to existing 6-inch main, new 2-inch copper building service with new corporation stop, curb stop and box, new 4-inch building penetration, connection to the existing water meter and appurtenances. The work also includes the reclamation and pavement overlay of approximately 26,500 square feet of existing parking lot and driveway, approximately 330 feet of new bituminous curbing, loaming and seeding, replacement of existing pavement markings and related site work.

A performance bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total amount of the contract price with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be required for the faithful performance of the contract, as well as a labor and materials bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the total contract price.
All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including, but not limited to G.L. c.30, §39M.
Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development and the weekly payroll record submittal requirements under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 through 27D inclusive.
Selection of the contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder.
The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids.
The School District reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the School District.
