NA-2026-018: 2026 Chapter 90 Fall Roadway Project Legal Ad

LEGAL NOTICE
CITY OF NORTH ADAMS
INVITATION TO BID
Bid # NA-2026-018
The City of North Adams, through its Procurement Office, will be accepting sealed bids for the
following roadway work: Blacktop resurfacing and appurtenant work thereto upon a portion of West
Shaft Road. The total number of days for completion of this project is thirty (30) days from
commencement of the project. However, in no instance shall this work go beyond November 1, 2026.
Sealed bids will be accepted by the Procurement Officer, City Hall - 10 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Room
201, North Adams, MA 01247 on or before Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 am after which time
all received bids will be publicly opened and read in the second-floor Conference Room # 202. The
project bid package is available electronically, and may be obtained at the above address or by calling
413-662-3000 (x-3225), or via email request to tpeterson@northadams-ma.gov. There will be a plan
deposit of $20.00 per set if requested by hard-copy.
Wage rates are subject to the minimum state wage rates as per MGL Chapter 149, Sections 26 through
27. Chapter 30B, as adopted by the City of North Adams.
Contractors must be pre-qualified by the MassDOT Highway Division with the class of work
Pavement - Surfacing, with an estimate value of $231,760.00 to bid upon this project.
Funding for this project is being provided through the City's Chapter 90 appropriation through the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which is contingent upon receiving formal project approval from
said program.
The lowest-priced bid from the most qualified and responsible bidder shall be awarded the project
subject to the availability of funding. The City of North Adams reserves the right to reject any or all
bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No obviously unbalanced bid will be considered in
awarding this contract. Additional information regarding this project may be obtained by contacting
