Integrated Ballistic Identification System Cartridge Cases Acquisition Package

Project Description: The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to award a contract to a qualified company to provide an Integrated Ballistic Identification System Cartridge Cases Acquisition Package for the City’s Police Department, Criminal Investigations Bureau as manufactured by Forensic Technology, Inc or equal. The awarded firm will be responsible for delivery, installation, warranty, and maintenance/repair of the instrument and associated apparatus.
The automated ballistic identification solution will provide Tempe’s Criminal Investigations Bureau timely actionable intelligence for the investigation of firearm-related crimes. By utilizing specialized technology, the solution captures the unique markings left by firearms on fired bullets and cartridge cases. The solution shall include a powerful search engine that will allow the agency to quickly find links between firearm related incidents throughout the country. Once identified, the solution can automatically search and compare these markings to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) data base.
