F-15E Ammunition Container Repair

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and repair of the F-15E Ammunition Container for use by the U.S. Air Force. If after reviewing the requirement, you desire to participate in the RFI, you should provide documentation that supports your company's capability in meeting these requirements. If you lack sufficient experience/capabilities in a particular area, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities to perform that portion of the requirement.

NSN is 1005- 01-298-2522 P/N is 10029110, and Repair Method Code (RMC) is R3.

Current source is General Dynamics-Ordinance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS).

This item has an RMC/RMSC of R3, and this code is used when the Government did not initially purchase the data and/or rights. GD-OTS is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and has proprietary rights of the data; therefore, they are the only company with the full source documentation detailing the design, operation, manufacturing details and repair of the F-15E Ammunition Container. Existing knowledge of the design, special tooling, unique engineering skills, specifications, function data, schematics, drawings, and knowledge of required manufacturing processes requires acquisition of the part from only GD-OTS.

PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet requirements for qualification and repair of the F-15E Ammunition Container:

This requirement is for repair services. Our repair services strategy is a five-year contract (basic plus four ordering periods). The projected quantities will range from 1- 20 each during the basic year and Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) from 1-20 each for the four ordering periods. Quantities are subject to change.

F-15E Ammunition Container Structure, NSN 1005-298-2522, Part Number 100029110 is a sub-assembly of the ammunition container (NSN 1005-01-445-9578, P/N 10048066). The F-15E ammunition container assembly stores ammunition removes it from storage and transfers it to the conveyor assembly. The container assembly also receives spent cases and unfired rounds from the conveyor assembly and places them back in storage. The container assembly consists of the container structure and carrier belt assembly, container drive unit, lower drive assembly, loading access unit, and rounds limiter and totalizator. The container structure is rectangularly shaped, and guides rounds and spent cases through an endless loop of carrier elements. Rollers on the elements and parallel trackways within the container maintain complete round control.
