The VAMC Newington CT intends to award on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 8/16. This requirement will include the proprietary fire system graphical command center, located at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System Newington Campus, known as the Simplex TrueSite WorkStation Management Console (TSW) has reached its end of life and needs to be replaced.
Salient Characteristics
Johnson Controls, will provide new equipment, installation, software, software installation, system programing, testing for final certification and user training to safety and maintenance staff for the TSW. The existing system is a proprietary system of Simplex. Simplex/Johnson Controls is the certifying vendor for the fire alarm system. Simplex/JCI holds the only certifying process for software, programming, and commissioning.
This Special Notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than October 18, 2024, Responses should be sent to Nathan.Langone@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
