OAC AQUARIUM MAINTENANCE CONTRACT

Required Services: 1. Routine Cleaning & Care: Clean interior & exterior glass/panels Vacuum substrate/gravel Remove algae (manual & chemical methods, as needed) Clean decorations and artificial plants 2. Water Quality Management: Test water parameters (pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, hardness, salinity if applicable) Perform water changes (minimum 10%-25% per service) Maintain filtration systems (clean media, check for proper operation) Monitor heaters, pumps, and lighting systems 3. Aquarium Health Monitoring: Visual health inspection of fish and aquatic life Notify OAC staff of any illness, deaths, or required treatments 4. Equipment Inspection: Routine check of all equipment (filters, air pumps, lights, heaters) Report and recommend repair/replacement if needed 5. Emergency Services: Must be available for emergency visits (equipment failure, fish illness, etc.) ________________________________________ Service Frequency: Weekly service recommended Due to public visibility, educational use, and possible larger tank size. Monthly in-depth equipment checks Including deep cleaning of filters, inspection of lights, etc. Emergency call-out availability required. ________________________________________ Chemicals & Supplies: Contractor will provide all chemicals, water conditioners, medications, and cleaning supplies. All chemicals must comply with safety regulations and be safe for public spaces. ________________________________________ Equipment: Contractor must bring their own: Gravel vacuums Algae scrapers Buckets & siphon systems Water testing kits RO/DI systems if applicable (for saltwater or sensitive tanks) Specialized cleaning tools Outdoor Adventure Center will provide access to utilities (water, power, drainage). ________________________________________ Additional Requirements: Contractor must have: Liability insurance Experience with public or high-traffic aquarium setups References from similar-sized/commercial accounts Service log documentation after each visit Contractor must comply with all State of Michigan safety and environmental guidelines.
