The Library of Congress (Library) requires installation of emergency alert beacons to be installed in identified locations throughout the Library’s campus buildings. Maps and floor plans for each building are available to the public: https://www.loc.gov/visit/maps-and-floor-plans/.
The Library requires installation and integration services between Joint Emergency Mass Notification System (JEMNS) with the emergency beacons for designated for the areas within its buildings where neither building alarms nor the public address speakers are sufficiently audible to alert staff and visitors of building emergencies. With the installation of these beacons and subsequent integration services, building occupants can be quickly alerted through the emergency beacons the building(s) to signify there is an alarm or that there is a state of emergency.
