IFB - 260008441 - CSO 006 Regulator Improvements - ARPA

The City of Richmond, Virginia (the “City”) seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general construction contracting services for the CSO-006 Regulator Improvements project (the “Project”). The Project will entail construction of a new support structure and furnishing and installation of five (5) fixed electric winches with associated control panel and appurtenances (the “Work”). The Project is funded with ARPA funds.

Combined Sewer Overflow ("CSO") Outfall 06 serves the Shockoe drainage area and accounts for approximately 80% of the City’s annual CSO volume discharged to the James River. Periodically, debris gets lodged in one or more of the five large tidal flap gates at the outfall, which can allow river water to infiltrate the wastewater collection system. Once the collection system is infiltrated, unnecessary pumping and processing of excess water is required. This Project seeks to make it safer and easier for the City maintenance staff to remove lodged debris from the CSO outfall flap gates, thereby reducing river water infiltration.
