Solicitation Summary
The City of Gaithersburg is seeking
proposals
for construction of the Blohm Park Trail Improvement Project
located at 18900 Watkins Mill Road in the northwestern corner of the City.
Blohm Park was dedicated in 2001 as a passive park with a natural surface trail system containing three wooden foot bridges over various stream tributaries. Amenities installed at that time included a brick circular walkway with seating areas leading to a covered wooden gazebo.
A City stream restoration project was completed in 2022 on the Whetstone Run and Watkins Mill tributaries which bisect the park. At the completion of the stream restoration, the Blohm Park Trail Improvement Project planning was initiated.
The intent of this Request for Proposals is to select a qualified construction contractor with experience in constructing similar trail systems and having the capability to fully comply with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Wetlands and Waterways Permit-23-NT-3280/202361836.

A. An optional Pre-Submission Meeting will be held at the location shown below on the date and at the time specified in the Solicitation Schedule. Attendance of the Pre-Submission Meeting is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. A site tour will take place immediately following the pre-submission meeting. Offerors are expected to bring a copy of all the Solicitation Documents to the Pre-Submission Meeting; the City will not provide copies. Offerors are encouraged to visit the park site to become familiar with the existing conditions.
