The Louisiana Tech University Oﬃce of Purchasing is now accepting Sealed Bid solicitations for the Purchase of Fitness

Equipment for Recreation.

This solicitation is seeking the purchase of twelve (12) Schwinn Aetherion R Indoor Cycling Bikes equipped with Zone

Display Consoles or equivalent. This solicitation will also include shipping / handling or freight from the vendor’s facility

to the Lambright Intramural Sports and Wellness Center (922 Tech Drive Ruston, LA 71270) and unloading and installation

of the newly purchased equipment.

The current and designated installation location for this ﬁtness equipment will be a ﬁrst-ﬂoor workout center.

Vendors are encouraged to visit the jobsite and shall carefully note the conditions under which they will be required to

work. The University will not grant the Awarded Vendor any allowances in performance, quality, and the workmanship

due to the vendor’s lack of knowledge regarding existing conditions. If a vendor wishes to tour the current and designated

installation location, please contact the Oﬃce of Purchasing via email at purchasing@latech.edu. The Oﬃce of Purchasing

will coordinate this facility tour and visit. The facility will be made available for vendor tours from April 13-17, 2026. This

shall be the only opportunity that vendors have to tour the facility. Vendors shall not contact the Recreation Department

directly. Vendors shall be responsible for their own measurements during this facility tour and visit.

The Awarded Vendor shall also be responsible for the removal of any debris created during the removal / installation

process. This includes but is not limited to packaging materials, boxes, wrapping materials, etc. The Awarded Vendor’s

employee shall be required to have identiﬁcation that clearly identiﬁes them as an employee / agent of the Awarded

Vendor; and shall remain properly attired during the time they are working in the University’s facility. The potential

Awarded Vendor shall also be required to provide the University with a current Certiﬁcate of Insurance compliant with the

‘Insurance Requirements for Contractors’ document that is attached to this solicitation. Failure to provide this required

Certiﬁcate of Insurance will cause the potential Awarded Vendor’s bid to be deemed as non-responsive. The Awarded

Vendor shall also provide an updated Certiﬁcate of Insurance should the coverage expire prior to or during the installation

/ removal process.

Due to the high levels of usage of this ﬁtness equipment, the University is only seeking to purchase commercial grade, high

demand units. Vendors shall also pay careful attention to the dimensions and speciﬁcations requested. These dimensions

and speciﬁcations are critical as they optimize both the amount of equipment and size for users of the workout facility,

which includes our Intercollegiate Athletes.

While this solicitation is seeking the purchase of twelve (12) Schwinn Aetherion R Indoor Cycling Bikes equipped with Zone

Display Consoles; the use of the brand name is not intended to be restrictive. Any brand / model / make that matches or

exceeds the following speciﬁcations shall be accepted. If bidding other than the Schwinn Aetherion R Indoor Cycling Bike

equipped with Zone Display Consoles, the vendor shall provide suﬃcient product documentation / literature to determine

equivalence. Failure to provide this product documentation / literature with an equivalent bid will cause the vendor’s bid

to be deemed as non-responsive.

The following speciﬁcations shall apply to the purchase of the requested ﬁtness equipment:

Frame and Construction

- Cycle is to be constructed with a heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant frame

- Cycle shall be designed for high stability and intense training

- Cycle shall have leveling feet so that the cycle can operate on uneven surfaces

- Cycle shall have a footprint of no greater than ﬁfty-eight (58) inches in length by twenty-four (24) inches in width

- Cycle frame shall be steel with a powder-coated ﬁnish

- Frame color shall be selected after the award is made

- Cycle shall accommodate the end-user heights ranging from forty-four (44) inches to one hundred twenty (120)

inches and shall have a maximum end user weight limit of at least three hundred ﬁfty (350) pounds.

Resistance System

- Cycle shall have a magnetic resistance system consisting of six (6) non-contact magnets

- Cycle shall have at least twenty-ﬁve (25) resistance levels with an intuitive resistance lever

- Cycle shall operate in a smooth, consistent manner

Drive Train

- Cycle shall have a Road Drive (toothed carbon belt)

- Cycle shall have an outdoor inspired road feel with durable, responsive performance

Handlebars and Rider Fit

- Cycle shall be universal, multi-positional to allow for the cycle to accommodate various users and programing

needs

- Cycle saddle shall be an AC Saddle

- Cycle shall have lever micro adjustments to adjust fore / aft, vertical seat, and handlebar adjustments

- Cycle shall be of an ergonomic design for rhythm, sprint, and climb positions

Pedals

- Pedals shall be Triple Link Pedals for SPD, Delta, and Keo cleat compatibility

- Pedals shall have a toe-cage for athletic shoes

- Pedals shall have a Morse Taper spindle to enhance durability

Power and Electronics

- Cycle is to have a generator powered console installed that requires no external power

Console Requirements

- Zone Display Console shall be a color LCD display

- Console shall provide user with the following real-time metrics:

o Power (watts)

o Cadence (RPM’s)

o Optional Gears

o Calories (kCal/kJ)

o Distance (Mi/KM)

o Duration

- Console shall have a stage timer with progress memory

- Console shall provide the following training modes:

o Rhythm (cadence based)

o %FTP (functional threshold power)

o % Maximum HR (heart rate)

o Simpliﬁed beginner mode

o Personalized biometric inputs

- Console shall have the following connectivity:

o ANT +FE-C

o FIT

o PWR

o HR

o Bluetooth

o Samsung and Apple Tap to Pair

o Direct Apple Watch pairing

- Console shall be Generator powered without the need for cords or batteries

Per unit pricing shall include the cost of the ﬁtness equipment, all shipping / handling or freight, unloading and installation

of new equipment, installation supplies, travel, hotel, meals, per diem, etc. Vendors shall not add additional line items to

the Schedule of Items for any of these costs, nor shall the Awarded Vendor invoice the University separately for these

items. The per unit pricing provided by the vendor shall be an all-inclusive price.

Vendors shall complete all pages of this Invitation to Bid, including the printed name and signature of the person

submitting the quotation and pricing on the Schedule of Items page. Bid received without this information shall be

deemed as non-responsive. Vendors are encouraged to include their own quote for an explanation of your proposed

items, BUT this vendor quote shall not be a substitute for this completed and signed Invitation to Bid Form.
