REQUEST FOR FORMAL WRITTTEN PROPOSALS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CITY OWNED REAL ESTATE CITY HALL (MUNICIPAL BUILDING)
The Saint Peter City Council is now accepting formal written proposals for the acquisition and development of approximately 1.2 acres of City-owned property located at 227 South Front Street (Parcel 19.412.6180), Saint Peter, MN 56082.
The City Council is seeking offers to purchase the City Hall (Municipal Building) property, including information on the interested party and their planned use/development of the site. This information will help the City Council to evaluate any potential purchase offer more fully. It is the Council’s goal to provide for a transfer of the property for the betterment of the City and community and their consideration of each proposal will not solely be based on the sale price. During the evaluation of proposals, the City Council may consider other factors including, but not limited to: timeline, proposed use, proposed need, taxes generated, employment, utility use, harmony with the Central Business District, site development (landscaping, building design, off-street parking), access to the Mill Pond/Riverside Park, pedestrian-friendly improvements, long-term maintenance plan, financial incentives requested, proven business/development history, and financial resources.
Please submit your proposal to purchase on the enclosed form. Please also note that your proposal must include the following information:
Deadline for receipt of proposals by the City Administrator’s Office is 5:00 p.m. on December 11, 2025. Proposals must be submitted in writing or through email submittal using the contact information at the bottom of this document.
Two options for tours of the building by interested bidders will be provided on December 3rd at 10 a.m. and December 4th at 2p.m. Interested parties or their representatives are encouraged to attend on either or both of these dates/times. Please email keishas@saintpetermn.gov to reserve your time for the tour and provide the names of all attendees and the organization you represent.
The building and property will be sold “as is” and closing would be scheduled to occur around July 1, 2026.
