AIR COMPRESSOR, PORTABLE, TWO WHEEL
1. APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS: Units must meet all OSHA requirements and be
within maximum permissible sound levels as defined by the EPA. ASME receiver
with safety valve. Certification of meeting the above requirements may be required
prior to award of bid.
2. REQUIREMENTS, GENERAL: All new equipment. All manufacturers' standard
equipment for the make and model offered, not in conflict with this specification, shall
be furnished. Electric 12 volt starting and generating system complete with
maintenance free, min 800 CCA battery. Engine and compressor hood shall be
equipped with a removable canopy, providing access to engine and compressor.
Canopy shall lock for engine and compressor serviceability. A tool box and
accessory storage shall be provided under the canopy or hood. Gauge and
instrument control panel shall be provided with lockable cover. Unit shall be
equipped with a block heater.
2.1 ENGINE: To be Interim Tier IV EPA or better emission rated, diesel-powered,
generating a minimum of 49 HP at rated operating speed not more than 2400
RPM. Minimum fuel capacity 27 gallons. Vertical exhaust, opening above the
hood equipped with a weather cap. Spin on type disposable oil filter, two stage
primary and secondary air filters with service indicators and oil cooling system
are required. Engine fan guard. Unit shall have a minimum run time of 9 hours
under full load.
2.2 COMPRESSOR: To be rotary screw type, oil flooded compression chamber, dry
type air filter intake system, oil filter, air-oil separator with replaceable element.
Rated free air delivery of at least 185 CFM at 100 PSI Standard Operating
Pressure @ maximum engine speed of 2400 RPM. Minimum operating pressure
range of 80 PSIG to 125 PSIG. Cooling system oil to air. Air service connectors,
minimum of two (2), 34" outlets equipped with valves, curbside.
2.3 CHASSIS: Multiple leaf springs or torsional suspension, retractable support leg-
front equipped with wheel and tire, detachable draw bar, safety chains. Wheels
and tires to be 13" minimum with regular tread highway type with EZ lube fittings
on wheel bearings. Engine and compressor shock/vibration isolated mounted.
Capacity of undercarriage and suspension must exceed the operating weight by
a minimum of 500 lbs. Unit to be equipped with fenders over the tires, a license
plate bracket, rear bumper and external lifting bail. Adjustable height pintle hitch.
Unit shall be equipped with stop, tail and directional lights, and a 7 pin
automotive electrical wiring plug (Cole Hersee #12092, or approved equal).

2.4 DIMENSIONS: Length (including drawbar) not to exceed 150", overall width not
to exceed 72", height at top of hood not to exceed 70".
2.5 SAFETY FEATURES: Automatic shut down and full gauge package for high
compressor discharge temperature, high engine temperature and low engine oil
pressure. Unloaded starting feature. Instruments to include: discharge air
compressor gauge, engine hour meter, engine oil pressure gauge, water
temperature gauge, voltmeter and fuel gauge. Air connection outlets to be
equipped with a safety device to reduce pressure in the event of hose failure.
2.6 INDICATIVE MODELS: Sullivan-Palatek D185PIZ4 equipped as noted or
approved equal.
3.0 COLOR: Manufacturer's Standard Colors (Orange preferred)
4.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: Equipment will be inspected upon receipt
prior to acceptance by the State of New Hampshire. Vendor shall supply 2 hours of
on site start up instruction if needed.
5.0 PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: Units to be delivered ready for immediate
operational use. Cooling system to be protected with permanent type anti-freeze to a
temperature of at least 30 degrees below zero F. Units to be completely lubricated
and serviced. Two (2) operator's manuals, parts books and shop repair manuals
shall be furnished with each unit. Certificate of Origin shall accompany the unit at
delivery.
6.0 WARRANTY: Manufacturer's warranty shall be a minimum of 1 year on all
components/3 years on air end and 2 years on engine. ALL warranty work shall be
provided at no cost to the state. Any transportation costs shall be borne by vendor.
Bidders will be required to provide a copy of warranty and current manufacturers'
specifications prior to award of bid.
SDS's: Manufacturer shall supply two (2) complete sets of Safety Data Sheets for all
fluids and coating materials used in both the operation and finishing of the equipment
furnished.
