The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334510, Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing, and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21 is soliciting information on contractors that can provide Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) system equipment. A description is below.

Brief Description - Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) system
The intended use of the requested item is the treatment of benign thyroid nodules and microcarcinomas. System will allow for minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided ablation of thyroid tissue, reducing the need for surgery and referrals to community care. The system will be used by endocrine and general surgeons as part of a growing in-house thyroid ablation program to improve Veteran access to specialty care. Item must be indicated specifically for thyroid ablation and must have sufficient technical features, such as impedance control, thyroid-specific electrode dimensions, appropriate electrode configurations, thermal safety mechanisms, and FDA-cleared for use in thyroid radiofrequency ablation.

cooling capability/thermal safety mechanisms
thyroid specific electrode dimensions
appropriate electrode configuration
sizes available for probes/needles/electrodes, length and tip mm.
manufacturer name
country of manufacture for the Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation system equipment.
