Afghan Refugee Health Program

Many Afghans are arriving to the United States with urgent as well as long-term mental health needs. It is critical that the mental health providers serving Afghan arrivals be knowledgeable of the culture and unique challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers.

The Office of Mental Health announces funds for the following efforts to support Afghan arrivals:

  • The promotion of health literacy
  • coordination of mental health services
  • facilitation of wellness group activities
