Description: The County of Kern and 67 participating jurisdictions intend to develop an update to the current Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP), which was most recently approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in April 2021. Kern County was awarded up to $400,000 in FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant
Program (HMGP) funding to hire a consultant to conduct the process of updating the
MJHMP.
