Bid Title: RFP: Sale and Redevelopment of the Winooski Armory Property
Category: RFPs, RFQs and Bids
Status: Open
Description:

The City of Winooski is considering the sale and redevelopment of the Winooski Armory, a 1.51-acre parcel located at 255 LaFountain Street in Winooski’s residential neighborhood development area. This redevelopment aims to enhance the vibrancy and diversity of Winooski’s neighborhoods and expand housing options to address Vermont’s housing affordability challenges. Recently decommissioned by its current owner, the Vermont National Guard, the Armory is slated for demolition, environmental remediation, and sale. Following a negotiated private sale between the City and the National Guard, the City plans to transfer the property to a developer who will develop much-needed housing to meet community demand. The developer will be responsible for covering all costs associated with acquiring and developing the parcel according to this RFP. The National Guard is currently undergoing an appraisal of the parcel, so a purchase price will be negotiated prior to awarding the contract. The City will relay the purchase price to interested parties as soon as it is available.
