Description

The Materials Measurement Laboratory, Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires the service and repair of a Spectro ARCOS Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry) (ICP-OES) Analyzer (S/N 128163/09).



SPECTRO Analytical Instruments Inc., (SPECTRO) indicated to NIST in writing that it is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMTEK, and that SPECTRO is the sole and only approved supplier of service for such an analyzer, and that service by any other organization is not sanctioned by SPECTRO and does void any warranties, express or implied. Further, PECTRO does not contract with 3rd parties and SPECTRO products are proprietary.



Based on the foregoing, the contracting officer intends to noncompetitively solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order to AMETEK, INC for the repairs and service of the aforementioned Spectro ARCOS ICP-OES under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
