The City of Palo Alto is looking for multiple vendors to fulfill the City’s need for sand, rock, and gravel . The City intends to issue a blanket purchase order for the purchase of these materials on an as-needed basis. The actual material quantities is based on the City’s operational needs and may significantly differ from the bid quantities. A blanket purchase order will be issued at the beginning of the initial one (1) year period and each anniversary date of the contract. The initial one (1) year period will have firm pricing according to the bid schedule. Subsequent years’ pricing will be determined by the pricing escalation ladder on the bid table.
City of Palo Alto Public Works and Utilities Departments use sand, rock, and gravel re gularly. Public Works Department is responsible for the repair, replacement, and maintenance of the City’s roadways and sidewalks. Utilities Department uses the material for pipe bedding and backfill of water, gas, and wastewater infrastructure. These materials are essential for the Utilities and Public Works Departments to perform their day-to-day operations and improvement projects.
