Description:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the County of Ontario (the “County”), will receive sealed bids for IFB# B25084 County Road 36 over Honeoye Inlet Bridge Replacement . Such sealed bids must be filed with the Ontario County Purchasing Director, 20 Ontario Street, Canandaigua, New York 14424, PRIOR TO 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read via Webex meeting.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Electronic bids will not be accepted for this project. NYS GML does not allow us to accept electronic bid for Article 8 Public Works projects. Any bid submitted electronically will be deemed non-responsive and rejected.

There will not be a pre-bid meeting for this project.

Bid forms, Drawings, and Specifications may be downloaded from the County’s e-Procurement Portal https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/ontariocountyny . Hard copies will be available for a refundable deposit of $100.00 per set (U.S. FUNDS). Cross Sections will be provided upon request in electronic version (PDF files) only. Checks shall be made payable to the Ontario County Treasurer. No bidder shall receive hard copy documents prior to receipt of a deposit by the Purchasing Department. Bidders requesting arrangements other than U.S. Mail shall be responsible for making such arrangements and all associated costs. Deposits must be a check or cash; no credit cards are accepted or copies of checks.

Each bid shall include a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid offered by the vendor. Said bid bond shall be in the form of a certified check, bond or irrevocable line of credit and is required to be included with the bid submittal.

NOTE: The County shall not be held responsible for the completeness or accuracy of any bid documents received by a vendor that were not directly issued to that vendor by the County Purchasing Department. Any vendor submitting a bid based on incomplete or inaccurate information resulting from documentation received from any third party, shall not have cause for relief from award or completion of a contract in accordance with the official documents on file with the County Purchasing Department.
It is HIGHLY suggested that all vendors interested in participating in this bid, contact the County Purchasing Department directly at the above address or telephone number to assure they have received the most accurate and up to date material concerning this contract.
The County does not offer or supply anyone the list of people that have obtained a copy of these bid specifications or cost estimates for the project prior to the opening of the bid. NO EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE TO THIS POLICY.

The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Work under this Contract will include replacement of an bridge with a new concrete 3-sided
frame bridge on an invert slab with cast in place concrete wing walls and headwalls. The work
will also include full depth roadway reconstruction, guide rail installation, an onsite temporary
detour, and other incidental construction necessary for completion of the project.
The Contractor’s attention is called to the close proximity of utilities at the project site.
The scope of this work includes, but is not limited to the following:
? Provide, maintain, and remove temporary erosion control measures
? Clearing and grubbing highway right-of-way and work area
? Maintain and protect traffic for the duration of the project in conformance with NYSDOT and
MUTCD requirements utilizing a temporary onsite detour with temporary structure
? Locating, preserving and protecting existing utilities at all times
? Maintain stormwater flows
? Installing cofferdams and waterway diversion structures
? Remove existing bridge
? Install new bridge, wingwalls and backfill
? Construction of embankment slopes
? Full depth reconstruction of existing road
? Construction of asphalt concrete pavements and shoulders to the line and grades shown on the
Contract Documents
? Laying out and applying permanent pavement markings
? Installation of guide railing systems
? Turf establishment
? Incidental work necessary to completely and satisfactorily construct the project
The Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, disposal, and performing all work in
accordance with these Contract Documents, technical specifications and plans, as ordered by Engineer.

Goals for Participation of Minorities - 5.3%

Goals for Participation of Women - 6.9%
