Description
This offered contract is for Forest Service Road Maintenance on various Forest Service Roads within the Selkirk
Forest District – Boundary Zone.
The works include, but is not limited to: culvert removal/replacement and armouring, brushing, ditching, culvert
inlet/outlet clean out/repair, snag/woody debris/rock ravel removal (end haul), bucking out of trees leaning or
within the cleared road right of way, bridge and road sign installation or replacement, landslide debris removal,
stacked rock fill repairs, cutbank rock ballast placement, rip rap/lock block placement.
Timing of brush cutting will vary depending on funding, migratory bird species, fire hazard and industrial hauling
activity. A swamper with their own pick up as required and approved by the Ministry Representative will work in
conjunction the mechanical brush cutter to: place signage, direct traffic, clean loose brush between the cleared
timber right of way after the brusher has passed through.
