The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) Injury Biomechanics and Protection Group (IBPG) requires the acquisition of a C-Arm Fluoroscopic System for life-cycle replacement of an existing Siemens ARCADIS Avantic C-Arm. C-Arm Fluoroscopic systems are used to collect data to assist with locating anatomical locations during specimen preparation for instrumentation and assessing post-test injury for injury biomechanic research to ultimately establish human injury tolerances and develop metrics with which Soldier personal protective devices should be designed to withstand. Medical images will be taken of all human (PMHS) anatomical regions with and without personal protective equipment such as body armor in place. Portability and durability of the x-ray machine should not diminish the power, resolution, and quality of the medical images produced.
The requirement is also for Annual Maintenance and calibration services. There will be 4 years maintenance and calibration
