IFB - 260009604 - Shockoe Diversion Structure Belt Conveyor Installation and Improvements Project - ARPA

The City of Richmond, Virginia (the "City"), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities ("DPU"), seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for the construction of the Shockoe Diversion Structure Belt Conveyor project (the "Project"). The services include the purchase and installation of a conveyor belt system in the West Diversion structure at Shockoe (the "Work").

The City is undertaking this Project to streamline the efficiency of its dumpster collection operations. The City currently uses six dumpsters, juxtaposed to nine trash rakes, in a line to capture debris extracted from the influx. The dumpsters fill up in a non-uniform fashion, requiring a truck to maneuver the filled dumpsters out of line and replace them with an empty dumpster. The conveyor belt sought by the City will be designed to capture all debris from every trash rake onto the belt, where it can then be carried to a singular dumpster at the end of the conveyor belt.
