Pre-Employment Investigations & Background Screening Services

Project Description: The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Special District within the State of California that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County. In addition to passenger rail service, SMART is a common carrier that owns and operates freight rail services within Sonoma County, Marin County, and Napa County.
SMART is seeking Proposals from qualified and experienced firms to perform pre-employment investigations and background screening services as part of SMART’s hiring process.
Pre-Employment Investigation and Background Screening includes the following:
• Document Verification
• Applicant Interviews
• Criminal Reference Checks
• Personal Reference Checks
• Review of Driving Record
• Employer Verification and Interviews
• Education Verification
• Credit Checks
• Other documents as provided by the SMART Manager
SMART’s Objectives for this service are as follows:
Objective 1: Hire high-quality, trustworthy, and responsible personnel.
Objective 2: Receive high quality comprehensive background screening reports to influence hiring decisions.
Objective 3: Receive timely submission of background reports to ensure no delays in the hiring process.
