82726Y0433-Request For Information (“RFI”): Commingled Organics Pre-Processing Equipment for the DSNY Staten Island Compost Facility

DSNY is seeking information from equipment manufacturers and suppliers for piece(s) of equipment or an equipment package system that can process commingled SSO feedstocks at 35 tons per hour to achieve
the following:

• Compliance with regulations (see NYSDEC operating requirements for permitted facilities ).
• Greater efficiency for material separation and processing.
• Processing flexibility for seasonal variations in commingled SSO composition.
• High organics capture (target >75%).
• Consistent and reliable processing.
• Production of a feedstock for composting with uniform particle size and homogenous composition.
• All pre-processing in an enclosed building.

DSNY will also accept submissions of alternative proposals, or pre-processing options, provided they meet some or all of the objectives outlined above.

This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for any services or products.  A response to this RFI is not an offer of any kind and cannot be accepted in any form to be a binding contract.  No party is bound by the information provided in this RFI or by any response to this RFI.  The City of New York shall not be liable for any costs incurred by respondents in developing or submitting a response to this RFI.

Confidential Information Provided by Respondents

Respondents should identify those portions of their responses, if any, that they deem to be confidential, proprietary information, or trade secrets, and provide any justification of why such materials, upon request, should not be disclosed by the City.  Such information must be easily separable from the non-confidential sections of the response.  All information not so identified may be disclosed by the City.
