For
NORTH QUINSIGAMOND AVENUE SIDEWALK EXTENSION – COMPLETE STREETS
The Town of Shrewsbury invites sealed bids for the NORTH QUINSIGAMOND AVENUE SIDEWALK EXTENSION – COMPLETE STREETS contract. All contractors must submit bids in conformance with this Invitation for Bids and the related documents which shall be available online at https://shrewsburyma.gov/bids and also in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury (phone: 508-841-8508). Town Offices are open Mon, Wed, Thu 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; Tue 8:00 AM-6:30 PM; and Fri 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.
The scope of work is as follows: the construction of approximately 4,050 linear feet of asphalt sidewalk, including approximately 500 linear feet of hot mix asphalt berm curbing, (19) new ADA compliant wheel chair ramp curb cuts, and (3) crosswalks, the restriping of approximately 8,000 linear feet of roadway bike and vehicle lanes, and (1) catch basin replacement.
Work to be performed under the awarded contract must be completed by October 31
st
, 2025.
All Contractors must be pre-qualified through the Massachusetts Department of Transportationwith the class of work as HIGHWAY SIDEWALK AND CURBINGwith an estimated value of $420,284.65.
This Invitation for Bids shall be governed by the requirements of MGL Chapter 30, §39M.
Bids will be received in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury, MA until 1:00PM on May 27, 2025, at which time they will be opened publicly and read aloud.
Bids must be sealed and marked “NORTH QUINSIGAMOND AVENUE SIDEWALK EXTENSION – COMPLETE STREETS” with the bidder’s name and address clearly noted.
A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany the Bid and be made payable to the Town of Shrewsbury.
The Town reserves the right to waive any minor informalities in the bids and to reject any and all bids if it shall be deemed in the best interests of the Town to do so.
