Title: Pirate's Wharf Phase II: Marine and Shoreline Work
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 1/30/2026
Due Date: 3/18/2026
The County is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors for Pirate's Wharf Phase II: Marine and Shoreline Work , in accordance with the terms and conditions and specifications set forth in this solicitation.
This project includes Phase II marine contracting work at the County Park known as Pirate's Wharf, located on Whitehaven Rd in Quantico, MD. The scope includes construction of a single lane boat ramp, installation of shoreline revetment measures, and construction of a fishing pier. The work may require the presence of an on-site archaeologist , which will be contracted separately by the County, but may require coordination with the marine contractor and the County.
Phase I of Pirate's Wharf opened in 2023, which included a restroom building, pavilion, playground, parking, and various trail systems. The second phase of the project will include public water access features, which are important to the County, particularly on the Wicomico River. The area of boat ramp construction is a previous wharf that was active in the 19th and 20th centuries and has some historical research value. A copy of previous archaeological studies and recommendations can be provided to prospective bidders. The work is also taking place in a federal channel, which needs to be considered in planning.
