LIME SLURRY HAULING
The City of Antigo is requesting bids for the land application of lime slurry from the lime pit located at 1015 Fulton St just east of the water treatment plant (WTP) for the 2026 season. Specifications are available in the Public Works Office, 700 Edison Street, Antigo, WI, 54409 or below . Bids will be accepted until Monday, August 24, 2026 on or before 10:00am at City Hall. Bids can be dropped off, mailed, or emailed. Submittals received after the deadline will not be accepted. All responses must be packaged, sealed, and marked “Lime Slurry Hauling ” to the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at the address above. The City of Antigo reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive bid irregularities and to accept the quote deemed most advantageous to the City. RFB For Lime Surry Hauling
The City of Antigo (hereafter referred to as The City), a governmental entity, is
requesting bids for the land application of lime slurry from the lime pit located at 1015 Fulton St
just east of the water treatment plant (WTP) for the 2026 season.
Notwithstanding any provisions of the Request for Bids (RFB), The City reserves the right
to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity or informality in the bid, and to accept or
reject any items or combination of items, when to do so would be the advantage of The City
and its taxpayers. It is further withing the right of The City to reject bids that do not contain all
elements and information requested in this document.
The City shall not be liable for any losses incurred by the proposer throughout this
process. The cost of preparing a response to this RFB is not reimbursable in part or in whole to
the proposer. Any bid received will become the property of The City and become a matter of
public record so any proprietary material or information should be marked as such and
submitted as a supplement to the bid allowing The City to protect such information as
warranted.
1. Objective: The City intends to contract out the hauling of lime slurry onto farm fields
from the settling pond at 1015 Fulton St just east of the water treatment plant.
2. Scope: The hauler shall provide a bid that includes the cost of hauling lime per gallon.
The price of lime slurry hauling should include all costs, including fuel, labor, etc. The
cost of the bid should additionally include the cost of the use of a manure pump and
tractor for operation. Note that this section of Fulton St and Graham Ave are now one-
way streets.
3. Project Specifications:
A. The hauler will spread lime slurry on fields selected by the staff of Infrastructure
Alternatives and the City of Antigo.
B. It's expected to haul approximately 500,000 to 750,000 gallons of slurry.
C. It is the City's expectation to spread lime on as many fields simultaneously to the
satisfaction of the farmers. Hauling is expected Monday-Friday during normal
business hours unless arranged with staff and hauler. However, if hauling occurs
during school hours, hauling will cease when school is out of session so as to not
disrupt child pick up times.
D. The lime is located in a settling pond adjacent to the WTP. It is settled out and will
need to be agitated to form a slurry and pumped into tanker trucks for hauling.
E. Maps of approved fields will be provided to the hauler. It will be the responsibility of
the hauler to follow and respect any setbacks required by WDNR codes.
F. A standard contract agreement as provided by The City of Antigo or an alternative
contract agreement as provided by the contractor must be reviewed/accepted by
The City of Antigo attorney. Additionally, the following are required for insurance:
1. Statutory Worker's Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance
a. General Liability
i. Bodily Injury, including death.
1. $1,000,000 each person
2. $2,000,000 each occurrence
ii. Property Damage
1. $2,000,000 each occurrence
iii. Or Combined Single Limit
1. $1,000,000 each occurrence
b. Independent Contractor's (if applicable) (contingent liability)
i. Bodily Injury, including death

c. Auto Liability

d. An umbrella policy of $2,000,000 may be used to satisfy the above
requirements.
e. The City of Antigo must be listed as additionally insured.
f. A copy of the endorsement must be forwarded to the City Clerk-
Treasurer's office. No insurance shall be cancelled without notifying
The City, in writing, thirty (30) days prior to cancellation.
The hauling contractor is responsible for the preparation and submittal of the bid
documents with final review/recommendation of the results to the Public Works
Committee by appropriate staff. Bids shall be prepared simply, avoiding the use of
elaborate promotional materials beyond those sufficient to complete the submittal. Bid

sealed bids should be labeled "Lime Slurry Hauling". Bids will be accepted until Monday
August 24th, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Bids will be read at this time in the Public Works office
at City Hall, 700 Edison St Antigo, WI 54409. Haulers submitting bids are welcome to

We have read the City's Request for Bids (RFB) to provide Lime Slurry hauling services and we certify that
we have adequate facilities to provide such services. We understand that our ability to meet criteria and
provide required materials shall be judged by the city.
