Description

The National Research Council Canada (NRC) has a requirement for the supply of two high speed digital cameras, for operation in the NRC High-Speed Facility.

The digital cameras will be fully integrated with the High-Speed Facility Data Acquisition and Control (DAC) system. The cameras will be controlled by the facility DAC software, programmed in LabVIEW, by National Instruments. Therefore, National Instruments drivers must be available to support the cameras operation.

The cameras must meet the requirements of sensor resolution, frame rates, dynamic range and recording time, needed by the various wind tunnel testing applications.

In addition, the cameras must allow pixel binning (combination) to increase the sensor dynamic range and maximum frame rate.

The cameras must allow straddle mode operation, typical of Particle Image Velocimetry applications, requiring short inter-framing time.

The minimum essential requirements of the system are listed and quantified in Section 3.
