For the provision of
LOW VOLTAGEW CABLING INSTALLATION – 3
RD
FLOOR OF THE HCGC
Hall County, Georgia, (herein “County” or “Owner”) a municipal entity of the State of Georgia, located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, hereby gives this Addendum #1 on the project known as Low Voltage Cabling Installation on the 3
rd
Floor of the Hall County Government Center (herein “Services”) located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30504.
The following questions were asked or submitted by various vendors. The answers are provided in bold lettering.
Can you give us detail of the network switches being supplied by Hall County for each closet, so that we can accommodate for rack space, distribute drops accordingly across closets, match patch panels, etc.?
Most of these switches are 1U 48Port Extreme Switches mode 5320.
It’s suggested that we also add some access control cables, it would be helpful to know which doors would be a target for readers.
See the attached map. The highlighted doors are access control doors.
Are we also cabling for the existing cameras on the 3
rd
floor?
We have verified that there are currently only 3 cameras on the third floor. It is highly likely that there will be only three after the remodel, but we do not yet know where they will be located. All three drops will need to go to the “B” Closet.
Confirming we can cut cables coming up from the floor and cap them?
Yes, this is what we were told by Central Services.
Are we expected to demo and remove cables in the ceiling, demo existing racks, etc., or will the GC be doing that? Assuming the County will be removing the good equipment from the racks prior to installation of new equipment.
Yes, you will be doing the Demo, but Hall County would like to retain the old racks after they have been removed.
What kind of UPS would you like?
APC1500
What kind of cabinets would you like?
Lockable is preferred if there is room, but open faced would be OK. The current ones need to be removed.
Does the current cabling need to be removed?
Yes.
Where are the patch panels located?
On top.
What kind of patch cables are needed?
Slim line, color orange is preferred. All cables must be new.
Will a survey need to be conducted?
Yes, if possible.
Will the electrician install everything first to be ready for installation?
Yes.
Who is the General Contractor?
Scroggs & Grizzel, LLC
What hours will we have access to the building?
Standard hours, Monday-Friday – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Any after hours work will need to be coordinated with the Marshal’s office. (1) access card will be provided to the vendor.
How many access control panels will be needed?
No more than (10).
Will cables for the security cameras need to be pulled also?
Yes.
What is the estimated start date?
The exact date is yet to be determined, but the contractor will be breaking ground around February 1
st
, 2026.
