REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

Architectural, Design and Related Engineering Services for Schematic Design and Preparation of a Construction Cost Estimate for Fire Station Construction/Renovation Project

The Fire Station Building Committee intends to utilize the firm selected from this Request for Qualifications for schematic architectural, design and related engineering and cost estimating services for the following scope of services:

• Demolition and New Construction of East Farms Fire Station, 94 South Road, Farmington, CT 06032
• Demolition and New Construction of Tunxis Hose Fire Station, 11 School Street, Unionville, CT 06085
• Renovation and Addition of Farmington Fire Station, 76 Main Street, Farmington, CT 06032

The successful firm must have demonstrated extensive experience in the construction and/or renovation of Fire Station buildings.

Qualified firms are required to submit their Proposal in accordance with the solicitation package requirements.  The firm must meet all municipal, state and federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices. One original, twelve (12) copies, and one electronic copy (Adobe PDF) of the proposal must be submitted to the Town Manager’s Office by the deadline.

After review of all qualifications, the Fire Station Building Committee reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or any part thereof, or waive defects in same, or accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Farmington.

A mandatory walkthrough is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Monday, August 31, 2026. Prospective proposers will meet at East Farms Fire Station, 94 South Road, Farmington, CT 06032, followed by Farmington Fire Station, 76 Main Street, Farmington, CT 06032, and lastly, Tunxis Hose Fire Station, 11 School Street, Unionville, CT 06085.

The selected consultant will enter into a contract with the Building Committee.  All questions or comments regarding this solicitation package must be submitted to Kathryn Krajewski, Assistant Town Manager, via email at krajewskik@farmington-ct.org by 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
