Description


This solicitation is being conducted by the Georgia Department of Transportation under its authority to procure services ancillary to the construction and maintenance of a public road (as defined in O.C.G.A 32-1-3 (24) as provided for in O.C.G.A 32-2-61 (c) and (d) (1) (D).

This electronic Request for Quote (eRFQ) is being issued to establish a Services Contract for Roadside Beautification Planting & Maintenance Services. Includes Wildflower Seed, Daffodil Bulb Planting, and herbicide application along interstate and state routes throughout the State of Georgia. Historically, the Department has planted 30,000 bulbs and 30 acres of wildflowers per district, per each planting cycle.  However, the resulting award of the contract(s) does not guarantee any minimum volume or a commitment of funds.

Work shall include weed and grass control, mowing, raking, tilling, drilling, bulb planting, lime applications, fertilizer applications, seeding, stake maintenance, litter, and debris removal. Work shall also consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, means of transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform the services in each of the seven (7) GDOT Districts. GDOT will provide seeds and bulbs.

The Contractor must furnish equipment in good operating condition and operated by properly trained and qualified personnel. The Contractor must make a good faith effort to furnish the Department the fully operational equipment needed to perform Roadside Beautification Planting and Maintenance Services at such time, and at such location(s) as outlined in this scope and/or as directed by the State Maintenance Office Landscape Architecture Unit.  The Contractor will also be responsible for all traffic control in compliance with current MUTCD standards, licenses, and permits required to satisfy the duties required herein.
