Valley Stream Installation of Backflow Prevention Device
Description:

General Construction Contract D006486:
Base Contract Summary: The purpose of this project is to provide and install a new 4-inch backflow Preventer in a new heated enclosure for the water service servicing Valley Stream State Park to comply with water authority of Western Nassau County Requirements. The scope of work also includes removal of the existing 2-inch water service bypass line, new electrical service for the new heated enclosure, water service modifications, and replacing of the existing electrical feed to the existing parking lot gate operator.
Estimated Range: $87,242.00 - $118,033.00

There will be a pre-bid meeting at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, located at the Fletcher Avenue Parking Lot Valley Stream State Park.


All Requests For Information (RFIs) are due by: 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

RFIs received after this due date and time will not be processed.

The completion date for this project is 180 Days after agreement has been approved by the NYS Comptroller’s Office.

PUBLIC BUILDING LAW § 8(6)

Pursuant to Public Building Law § 8(6), any contracts over $5,000 for the work of construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, or improvement of any State building, a responsible and reliable NYS-certified Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise that submits a bid within ten percent of the lowest bid will be deemed the apparent low bidder provided that the bid is $1,677,139 or less (maximum amount has been adjusted for inflation effective January 1, 2025). If more than one responsible and reliable MWBE firm meets the requirements, the MWBE firm with lowest bid will be deemed the apparent low bidder.
