The Nassau County Department of Public Works has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional construction management and Inspection services in connection with the following:

Construction Management and Inspection Services for Traffic Signal Expansion Phase 10 - Contract

The Nassau County Department of Public Works is requesting proposals from firms to provide Professional Construction Management and Inspection Services for Nassau County Department of Public Work’s Traffic Engineering Unit. These services shall include providing Resident Engineering, Office Engineering and Construction Inspection Services for the construction of thirty-nine (39) traffic signals and twenty-one (21) traffic cameras at various intersections along Hempstead Avenue, Franklin Avenue, New Hyde Park Road, Mineola Boulevard, and Glen Cove Avenue. The firms selected to provide these services will be awarded a twenty-four (24) month Agreement with the County.

Proposal submissions regarding this project are due on or before Friday, September 5, 2025, no later than 3:00 pm EST at the location specified within the RFP. No late proposals will be accepted.

Proposals should only be submitted after careful examination of the complete RFP and its requirements. The selected firm will be required to provide proof of general and professional liability insurance in the minimum amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence.

Vendors doing business with Nassau County, including those responding to this solicitation, must register with the County. The Nassau County Bid Solicitation Boards are open to all registered vendors. Vendors that have not registered are able to view open solicitation opportunities, but they are not able to download solicitation documents or submit bids or proposals.

The successful Proposer shall be required to comply with the requirements of Local Law No. 14-2002, “Participation by Minority Group Members and Women in Nassau County Contracts,” and 2-2016, “Participation of Service-Disabled Veterans in County Contracts.” All Proposers should review the provisions of Appendix EE (included as an attachment to the RFP) which outlines the requirements of Local Law No. 14-2002. Technical proposals shall include information regarding the Proposer’s plan to comply with Local Law No. 14-2002. MWBE UTILIZATION PLAN – In accordance with Title 53, Nassau County Local Law No. 14-2002, all Vendors shall submit a MWBE Utilization Plan with their Proposal.

Please be advised the DBE goal for the subject County Federally Aided Project is set at 20%. The Project also has a good faith effort Minority participation goal along with a good faith effort Female participation goal. This project is being subsidized with Federal Funding.

Project has federal funding. Federal reporting and NYSDOT record keeping requirements are included as part of the contract documents.
