Description: Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) are tools in the fight to remove guns in cases involving domestic and gender-based violence. Potential non-law enforcement petitioners seeking to file ERPOs, like family members, school officials, and health and mental health care providers, domestic violence advocates and attorneys, need training and support to identify extreme risk behavior and navigate court processes when filing for ERPOs. To address this, OPDV is seeking to contract with a training and technical assistance partner to develop a training curriculum and provide technical assistance to domestic and gender-based violence service providers, regional attorneys, and other community-based organizations throughout the ten Gender-Based Violence Regional Council areas of NYS. This program will run for two years from April 2025 to March 2027. This contract is for $150,000 per year, totaling to $300,000 for the two-year program.
