State Street Watermain Improvements
The City of Big Rapids is requesting Bids for the construction of State Street Watermain Improvements. Bids for the construction of the project will be received at the City of Big Rapids City Offices located at
226 N. Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids, MI 49307 until 2:00 p.m. local time, Monday, March 30, 2026.
At that time, the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Items of work include approximately 5,200 feet of directionally drilled 14” HDPE water main, 1,700’ of open cut water main, 7 Bore & Jack operations of various sizes, water services and hydrants, as well as pavement and sidewalk repairs.

The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents.
A pre-bid conference will not be held.

Funding is provided through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Water Related Infrastructure Grant program which requires that Federal Wage Rates be utilized. We would like to call the bidders attention to the Davis-Bacon/Prevailing Federal Wage Rates, 29 CFR Part 5- Labor
Standards Provisions for Federally Assisted Projects, and Debarment/Suspension Certification.
The City of Big Rapids reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the City of Big Rapids.
