Campuswide ADA Study

SUNY Cortland's Department of Facilities Planning Design and Construction is requesting proposals to perform a feasibility study to identify and cultivate a culture of access for people with disabilities that will:
• Explore models and strategies to build and expand a culture of access on campus.
• Evaluate existing ADA practices and identify growing accessibility practices in and out of the higher education classroom. Identify obstacles and work towards solutions to broader adoption of accessibility practices.
• Connect with other communities of practice and campus leaders with a shared vision, including but not limited to: Facilities Management, Disability/Accessibility Directors, Electronic Information Technology Accessibility Officers, Chief Diversity Officers, Chief Information Officers, Teaching Center Directors, Directors of Online and Extended Learning, Faculty, Students, SUNY Advisory Council on Teaching and Technology, and Instructional Designers.
• Coordinate with campus leadership to design and implement a plan to engage their campus community in the work of access.
• Review and become familiar with Facilities design and classroom standards related to accessibility.

The selected consultant will coordinate this study with the Office of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction, along with campus stakeholders. Submission from licensed, NYS firms together with consultants' compensation and liability insurance coverage in the amount and types required by the RFQ will be accepted until noon, Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
