Strategy & Planning Grants Services For Institutional Research

Overview: Consultants will work with the client to gain an understanding of their priorities, processes and challenges related to data.

• Hold regular virtual meetings with the client point of contact.
• Provide quarterly reports on activities related to the service.
• Conduct Executive Sponsor preparatory phone conversation with the Client to finalize service delivery including:

1. Introductions
2. Review working sessions and deliverables.
3. Define project success.
4. Outline priorities for the institutional research services.

• Perform cursory current state review of existing documentation concerning institutional research practices.
• Document intended service success.
• Recommendations from cursory review of documentation for institutional research.
• Collaborate with IT to support the development of data visualizations (currently Power BI).
• Collaborate with IT to review and troubleshoot SQL code for Argos and Banner reports.
• Develop and refine the institutional data governance framework and data strategy.
• Attend training opportunities to support federal, state, and other statutory reporting (SIRIS FAUG meetings, MSCHE workshops, SUNY trainings, AIRPO, etc.).
• Support onboarding and transition of new IR staff and facilitate knowledge transfer and continuity.

Reporting

• Specific activities include the dissemination of institutional data and information through data gathering and analysis by submission ready data reports to be delivered to the key holder for IPEDS submission.
• Identifying and collecting correct data elements to use in federal, state, and other statutory reporting.
• Preparing reports in the required formats.
• Identify and collect data elements for federal, state, and other statutory reporting.
• Prepare reports in the required format via SUNY DTS, IPEDS portal, and other reporting systems.
• Provide enrollment projections and re-projections, including multi-tier modeling (high/mid/low) and logic updates based on SUNY reporting changes.
• Respond to ad-hoc data requests from institutional stakeholders.

Service Assumptions

• Per the high-level tasks and deliverables defined within the table; and
• Sessions will be delivered remotely;

Client Responsibilities

• Identify schedules for executives, stakeholders, and working members for training and submission sessions
• Submit federal IPEDS data (institution is the key holder).
• Provide copies of reference documents
• Provide access to systems containing any reporting data
• Provide facilities and logistics as needed
• Participate in training for submission of data reports

Out of Scope

• Includes but not limited to any services not described herein.
