Southern Guilford High School
New Fire Alarm System Installation Project - IFB 6821
Sealed proposals will be received by the Guilford County School System until 2:00 pm on April 16, 2026, at 714
Green Valley Road, Greensboro, North Carolina 27408 and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read aloud,
to furnish all materials and labor for the Southern Guilford High School New Fire Alarm System Installation Project.
Upon arrival, please check-in at the front information desk for room location, and sign-in. Please allow sufficient time
for this, as late bids will not be accepted.

FM Engineering will email an electronic copy within 24 hours of the request.
Questions regarding the bid package should be directed in writing to Fassil Mitiku via email.
A brief description of work in the project as follows:
The existing fire alarm system (all devices, wiring and conduits) shall be removed completely. A new
addressable voice evac fire alarm system with all associated devices, wiring and conduit shall be installed.
The existing fire alarm system in the school shall be removed after the new fire alarm system is installed,
inspected and approved by the City of Greensboro/Guilford County Fire marshal’s office.
A pre-bid conference will be held at the project site at 4:30 pm on April 9, 2026. Attendees should meet at
the front of the school. Attendance at this conference is recommended for all potential bidders to examine the
existing conditions and to discuss details of the project.
Bidders must be properly licensed for the work in accordance with Section 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes.
A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project. No bid
may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days.
E-Verify Requirements: This project requires the awarded vendor to comply with the requirements of E-Verify. (U.S.
law requiring companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens,
or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization.)
Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The appropriate forms from the section entitled
“Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses” must be submitted with each bid to show good faith efforts
to obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation.
The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national
origin, sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section 168A-3.
The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
