The Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District is requesting sealed bids for a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 170 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Lake George Conservation Area, located in Putnam County, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 38; Township 13 South; Range 27 East. (Maps are included in the attached agreement.)

This timber sale consists of a clearcut and a second thinning within mature slash pine stands which were first thinned more than ten years ago. The clearcut stand includes 22 acres of natural sand pine. All merchantable pine within this area shall be harvested. The thinning component includes a combination of marked thinning and logger‑select thinning across 148 total acres. Marked thinning areas comprise 120.8 acres. In these stands, trees designated for harvest are marked with blue paint at eye level; only trees with these markings shall be harvested. Logger‑select thinning areas total 27.2 acres. In these stands, operators shall utilize the existing cut rows from the first thinning to access and thin the leave rows. The objective is to achieve a residual stand density of 50 square feet of basal area per acre. Within the leave rows, removal priority shall be as follows: first, harvest diseased, defective, or suppressed trees; then remove a portion of intermediate and co‑dominant trees as necessary to reach the target density. The District estimates that the timber volume conveyed in this Agreement includes approximately 2,484 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,347 tons of chip‑n‑saw, and 72 tons of sawtimber. These figures are estimates only and are not guaranteed
