Washington Avenue Grade Crossing Renewal Project, Phase 2 (USDOT Crossing Inventory #917855K)
Description:

The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the plans and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to:

Furnishing and installing a grade crossing warning device system at the Railroad’s Washington Avenue grade crossing (USDOT Inventory #917855K) inclusive of a signal enclosure, approach track circuitry, two walkout cantilevers with flashing lights, two stanchions with gates and flashers, two pedestrian stanchions with gates and flashers, and one flashing light signal assembly. Work is also inclusive of establishing an electrical service connection with the local electric utility company, removal and relocation of a streetlight, railroad related pavement markings and signage, and work zone traffic control.

There will be a pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interested parties should meet at the Washington Avenue Grade Crossing, USDOT Inventory #917855K, City of Kingston, Ulster County, New York. While attendance is not required to submit a bid proposal, this will be the only opportunity for those interested to visit the project site. Attendees are required to bring their own PPE. Those without PPE will not be allowed access to view and inspect the project site.

Distribution of Bid Documents will commence on April 29, 2025. Bid documents are available on the Catskill Mountain Railroad’s website https://catskillmountainrailroad.com/ , the New York State Contract Reporter, https://www.nyscr.ny.gov/ , or by request from Carl W. Rode, PE, crode@cscos.com .

Prospective bidders are encouraged to provide their contact information including contact name, mailing address, street address, telephone number and e-mail address to Carl W. Rode, PE, crode@cscos.com from C&S Engineers, Inc. in order to receive updates and addenda issued during the bidding period. Failure to provide this requested information may subject prospective bidder(s), at the Owner’s discretion, to have their bid rejected.
