Project Description: This project will construct new stormwater conveyance infrastructure and reconfigure existing sewer system assets to remove stormwater from the combined sewer system. The project will remove approximately 110 acres of highway drainage area, and an additional 30 acres within the Queensgate neighborhood in the City of Cincinnati, through partial separation. Overflows will be eliminated at two CSOs and reduced at two other CSOs, for a total CSO reduction of 120 MG/TY. The project includes a dynamic underflow control system giving MSD the ability to control flows from the Central Watershed into the Mill Creek Plant and future HRT.
It is anticipated that professional engineering and related consulting services shall be provided to support the project during the construction phase. The effort will involve design and construction coordination with ODOT on their upcoming Brent Spence Bridge Corridor projects. Services to be provided in the construction phase may include, but are not limited to, construction administration (including RFI and construction submittal review), change management, construction inspection, railroad coordination, ODOT coordination, community outreach, material testing, field engineering, SCADA configuration development, training, Operations Manual System development, geotechnical and soil monitoring, environmental consulting, and post-construction flow monitoring.
