“Fire Department Exterior Painting of the Building”

The Town of Surfside Beach seeks bids for painting the exterior of the Fire Department building, located at 810 1 ^st . Ave. North Surfside Beach, SC 29575.

The work shall consist of:

Surface preparation, pressure washing the building, resealing cracks and joints. Sanding or scuffing all metal surfaces and using a Direct To Metal Primer on those metal surfaces. Any Hardie Board with loose paint needs to be scraped and primed. Replace the ceiling at the entrance way to a non-porous exterior product that is mold resistant and won’t deteriorate.

Semi-gloss acrylic latex paint to match (or match to the best of the ability) with input from Surfside Beach Fire Department. Drop clothes, tarps, or whatever is needed to protect against spills from paint. Two coats of paint, hand painted, not sprayed.

Notes:

• A mandatory, pre-bid conference will be held on site in which the Bidder must attend one of the two dates of either: Monday May 12 ^th at 10:00 am and Wednesday May 14 ^th at 2:00 pm at 810 1 ^st Ave. North at the fire station.
• Bidders shall familiarize themselves with scope of work prior to submitting a bid.
• Successful bidder shall obtain a Town of Surfside Beach business license.
• Successful bidder must obtain a (no-fee) building permit from the Building Department.
• The deadline for questions from prospective bidders (email only) shall be: Friday May 23 ^rd , at 9:00am.substantive responses will be published in an addendum, which shall be acknowledged in every responsive bid package submitted.
• The due date for this solicitation is Friday May 30 ^th at 10:00 am, at which time the bids will be publicly opened at the Town of Surfside Beach, 210 Hwy 17 South, Surfside Beach, SC 29575.
• Surety bonds have been waived as a requirement for this project.
