APEX Accelerators are an official government contracting resource for small businesses. Find your local APEX Accelerator (opens in new window) for free government expertise related to contract opportunities.
APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center is committed to providing Veterans with evidence based,
non-pharmacologic treatment options that align with the national initiative through the Pain
Management Opioid Safety and Prescription Drug monitoring Program (PMOP) office
supporting the use of virtual reality (VR) within pain management teams.
CVVAMC requires a therapeutic virtual reality system capable of delivering immersive
experiences designed to assist with pain distraction, guided relaxation, mindfulness, stress
reduction, and emotional wellness. The system will support interdisciplinary pain management
efforts by providing Veterans with an additional non-opioid modality to enhance comfort and
improve the overall patient experience.
