The contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, layouts of work features, and supervision needed to complete paving.Project construction will generally consist of the following items of work:? The Contractor shall apply a tack coat conforming to VDOT Item 310-1 on all areas to be resurfaced. Tack coat shall be placed at 0.10 gallons per square yard. ? The Contractor shall place a 2 inch surface course of asphalt concrete pavement on all areas, surface course must conform to VDOT Item 315-1. Asphalt will begin at the entrance to the project office from main road and shall continue up thru the Main office parking area, 4000 square yards. All paving will be full depth. The existing parking area has an existing gravel base.? Contractor shall ensure all paving will drain water without any water standing. Contractor shall prepare the site to avoid any low or high spots before paving. ? Paving is 4000 square yards feet of full depth pavement consisting of a 2-base course with a 1 � top coat surface course which shall conform to the same VDOT specifications required.? The Contractor shall grade, reshape, and compact all areas as needed. In areas with no existing base, the Contractor shall place and compact an additional 2- 4-inch aggregate base in accordance with VDOT Item 309-1. A two-layer asphalt base course shall be installed per VDOT Item 315-1, BM-2. A tack coat, per VDOT Item 310-1 shall be applied at a rate of .10 gallons per square yard. Finally, a 1 inch asphalt surface course shall be placed over all base material, conforming to VDOT Item 315-1, SM-2-A. ? Contractor shall taper asphalt to adjoining roads and parking areas. ?
