Water Treatment Sidewalk Restoration

The City of Richmond, Virginia (the “City”), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”), seeks bids from qualified firms for general construction services related to the City’s Water Treatment Plant sidewalk restoration project (the “Project”). The Project will entail rehabilitating over 500 feet of concrete sidewalk, without damaging or compromising the water flow of the triple conduit located underneath the Project (the “Work”). Further details concerning the Work are more particularly described below in the Statement of Work.

The Work will range from minor crack repair and expansion joint replacement to rehabilitation of deep spalling, exposed aggregate, and rebar. A final epoxy coating is desired to add durability. One of the challenges of this Project is working with an existing concrete process water conduit, known as a “triple conduit”, directly below the sidewalk. It is crucial that the Work does not damage the triple conduit or contaminate the process water flowing through it. Effective execution of this Project will promote a safer work environment for plant staff and continued protection of the triple conduit.
