Overview
Summary

The City of Ennis is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to perform a waterline relocation project in Ennis, Texas. This project supports upcoming infrastructure improvements and ensures continued reliable water service to the community.

Background

The TxDOT–UPRR Underpass Project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety in downtown Ennis. To accommodate the proposed storm drain system associated with this project, the City has to abandon and relocate an existing 6-inch waterline crossing E. Ennis Avenue near Paris Street.

The new 8-inch waterline will:

  • Tie into the existing 8-inch main on Laurel Street
  • Extend across the southern boundary of the Murphy Gas Station property
  • Continue south along the eastern property line of 508 E. Ennis Avenue
  • Proceed west along E. Ennis Avenue

This alignment will eliminate the vertical conflict with the storm drain, allow abandonment of the existing 6-inch line, and maintain service to adjacent properties, including re-supply to an existing fire hydrant.

The proposed waterline will be approximately 490 feet in length and installed at a depth of 5 feet or shallower.
